just is case you are not yet aware of it, in Italy there is quite nice aerial imagery covering the whole country, from 2006, and covering Umbria and Lazio from 2008. To add them into JOSM, have a look here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Italy/PCN#JOSM_versione_.3E.3D_3715: (just copy the links). This imagery is available in quite good resolution (you should have a scale around 50m indicated in JOSM in the scale bar when you start downloading it for full resolution), but in urban agglomerations inferior to Bing in terms of resolution (in the countryside it is generally better).
