Please be careful with any building geometry corrections in Italy, especially in Veneto. Nearly all of the buildings (imported 2013 ... 2015) are affected by a systematic shift error. They are shifted by about 3 meters in direction WNW with respect to Bing 2025 imagery and STRAVA Global Heatmap data. Roads are a mixed bag. Many are aligned with Bing 2025 imagery, but many are not as until a couple of years ago PCN 2006 imagery was used as reference. Until about 2022 Bing was useless, misaligned and, in addition, heavily affected by parallax-based deformations.
In Veneto the root cause of the mess was that the coordination translation software from Gauss-Boaga (used for the source data in Veneto) to WGS 84 (required by OSM) was not precise enough. Any punctual changes will create local conflicts. I don't know what the situation is in other parts of the country. I fear that similar problems exist elsewhere in Italy. On top of that, many edits made after the initial building imports used various approaches. In particular some mappers adjusted new edits to the pre-existing imported buildings, others aligned them with PCN2006. And many recently mapped objects align with Bing 2025 imagery.
