Thanks for the reversion and edits. One of the users I know actually
wondered if that "historic" tag was ever appropriate, and I think removing
it was the right way to go, as well.

As for the "status of the islands", the names given to the peaks in OSM
were Korean in the first place, and the area is already set as Korean
territory at admin_level=2 and 4. Thus, adding further, lower-level Korean
administrative boundaries and changing the name of the peak as decided by
the Korean government don't seem to be changing the status, but merely
updating to reflect its current status more accurately. I'll go ahead with
the addition of boundaries soon.
