Most of the is_in:state tags have the value "Province of" in the name. For example: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/198502660 gns_classification = ADM2 gns_uni = -3354889 is_in:country = Philippines is_in:country_code = ph is_in:state = Province of Bohol name = Loboc place = town source = GNS
Question, is it too verbose? Disclosure: I'm appending the is_in:state tags to town and cities points in the osm-ph garmin map. See: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4677828307_622655ea75.jpg I can of course pre-process the OSM data before compiling the Garmin map, but it would be nice to clean the main data if we agree that this is redundant. The benefit I see with the text "Province of" remaining in the database is to make it explicitly refer to the province since it is added in the is_in:state tag to avoid confusion with the "state" from other countries. -- cheers, maning ------------------------------------------------------ "Freedom is still the most radical idea of all" -N.Branden wiki: http://esambale.wikispaces.com/ blog: http://epsg4253.wordpress.com/ ------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ talk-ph mailing list talk-ph@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ph
