Open Data Gov Ph... This will be starting point for transparency and data
sharing especially in our crowd mapping efforts.

It is very helpful in other LGUs depending to NGAs, GOCC, GFI datasets
especially in disaster response and other uses.

Hope it will be start of FOI... Pass FOI Bill Now!

More information I got yesterday.  This is part of the governmentis
program on open governance and transparency.  By mid of November this
year, they plan to roll out the website releasing ~400 datasets.  They
are also planning to host a hackathon to explore possibilities on how
the public can utilize the date.

Personal comment below:
1. What about the Freedom of Information Bill.  Isn't it better if we
have the law as a framework for this open governance and sharing of
government data?
2. APIs are good but I do hope they publish raw bulk downloads.

Dear Totor,

Yes, I do believe they have this data in real-time within CITOM (Cebu
City's Traffic Management Office).  CITOM and Cebu City are supporters
of OSM.  I think CITOM staff are also editing data in OSM. I hope they
share more data we can use for OSM in the future.

Here's the list of winners:

>From the demo last night, I am very impressed at what they were able
to build for such a short period.  OpenTripPlanner powered by OSM is
very impressive.  At least for Metro Manila, multi-modal trip routing
and planning is now possible.

Most of the apps used Google's geocoding api.  As Eugene mentioned,
this is perhaps where OSM needs to improve.

Here's a document showing what we can expect from this data portal:
