On the Philippines Mapping Conventions about LGU's <http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Philippines/Mapping_conventions/Local_government>, I added the type of place node for sitios and puroks, place=neighborhood. But, that tagging makes them appear on addresses where they are not inside it, and it looks not suitable for mapping sitios and puroks. What looks appropriate for tagging sitios and puroks is to tag them as place=hamlet, because of the possible number of residents (approximately between 100 and 200).
Plus, regarding mapping on informal districts (not including *poblacions *that are areas composed of barangays or a barangay itself), like commercial districts, including very large mixed-use areas with their own names but not designated as a barangay (e.g. Divisoria, Bonifacio Global City, Filinvest City, Ortigas Center, Nuvali, Vista City, Aseana City, McKinley Hill, Eastwood City, Marikina Riverbanks) central business districts (e.g. Makati Central Business District), or other areas inside a barangay that are not designated as sitio or purok, they have no specific type of place for mapping. There are informal areas (not including poblacion areas composed of small barangays in cities/municipalities, because are administratively defined by the barangays they are composed of, that they can be seen on their names, and they lie between the city and barangay level) in the Philippines either mapped as place=suburb, place=hamlet, or place=neighborhood. I suggest them to be mapped as place=suburb, but their defined/approximate boundaries are to be mapped, they are to have the same level as sitios/puroks. But tagging large informal areas/districts as suburbs looks like it will make them appear on high zoom levels over barangays, so one possible place type to assign to them as place=hamlet, the same as what I propose for sitios/puroks, or place=quarter, per the definitions on its OpenStreetMap Wiki page <http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:place%3Dquarter> and its size over suburbs and neighborhoods. Any votes/feedback on this proposal are welcome. I hope there would be an agreed tagging on sitios/puroks and even informal areas that are large commercial/mixed-use area, central business districts, and other large named areas in barangays that are not sitios/puroks or subdivisions/residential areas (very rare, but one example would be NBP Reservation in Poblacion, Muntinlupa, where the New Bilibid Prisons and the Jamboree Lake are found).
