And don't import it at all in Orange County, Florida: they already have "both actual and theoretical" address ranges, plus address points, at http://www.orangecountyfl.net/cms/DEPT/growth/maps/Addressing.htm As for the reason Florida counties don't charge lots of money for this data, see Florida statutes chapter 119: "The Legislature finds that, given advancements in technology, providing access to public records by remote electronic means is an additional method of access that agencies should strive to provide to the extent feasible. If an agency provides access to public records by remote electronic means, then such access should be provided in the most cost-effective and efficient manner available to the agency providing the information." As for why they don't put restrictions on the data, that's likely because (under Feist Publications v.
