So that's what those are?  I always thought they were state routes or
something.  That would make sense, considering NJ's state route
markers are just circles, and a number in parentheses looks similar to
a number in a circle.  (Read: that practice is possibly misleading and
probably a bad idea.)  So anyway, it's been a good decade since I've
been through NJ.  How are county route numbers signed there?
