Yes, this is exactly what I meant. I could produce a demo. And these are the very type of things that were shot down before. These are exactly what I suggested. My examples were smaller to show that this could be done with a small shield. What I have been told (on this mailing list) is that if a consensus is developed for rendering shields then the rendering will be added to Mapnik and Osmarender. I like your idea. Can we get a consensus to do this?
