Hi Nic I'm one of the 'tracking guys'. Yes, I'll gladly make data available. Just need a bit of time or help. Privacy is not a problem because I'll fully scramble the data. I'll give direct MySQL DB access or any other suggestion will be appreciated - maybe a web interface. Someone can then do some tests to see if the data can be used. I suggest exporting the tracks for a vehicle to KML or GPX format? Any sugesstions?

Thank you for organizing the meet-ups, Grant. We had some fruitful discussions (at least here in Gauteng). A couple of vehicle tracking guys attended and it sound like their sitting on gigabytes of tracks collected throughout Southern Africa. They are a little bit concerned of privacy, but I'm guessing that if someone asks to trace from it with JOSM without uploading the underlying data they'd oblige. Lots of interesting discussion, some of which that have already reached the list. Some guys in Cape Town were talking about a mapping party get together... I heard the name of Knysna (or maybe Wilderness) mentioned. Anyone know of any space there? Cheap flights to George from all over SA, short drive to Knysna. George mapping has come on very impressively over the holidays! http://osm.org/go/k...@vlhtj- PE will be improving as soon as I start uploading my improvements ;-) / Grant _______________________________________________ Talk-ZA mailing list Talk-ZA@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-za
