Vendors are always trying to get us to send them unencrypted data. On many FTP sites I use GPG encryption before FTPing the file(s). We also do a few SFTP and FTPS. I know HOW to do this, but is it safe-doesn't it violate HIPAA I'm transferring personal health info and it's not encrypted or password protected? Is there another way to accomplish this? Anyone have any suggestions?
