Subject: [talkbws] RE: Zipping Files

Greetings,
Ah neat... and this just became a 2 cents article :)

I've used:
http://www.bostonworkstation.com/customer_center/script_center/script_de
tails.aspx?id=303&cat=20
to create a ZIP before.

I downloaded the IZARC command line stuff as was able to create a zip
like you were wanting to do using:

Shell_ """C:\Program Files\IZArc\IZARCC.exe"" c:\test\testMe.zip *.doc"

The Shell_ command can launch applications or documents - in this case
we're using it to launch an application.
When an application supports parameters - like IXARCC does - you must be
very careful with how you construct your command. (As an aside, one
trick I like to do with "real applications" that take all sorts of
parameters is to have the Shell_ command simply shell the .LNK file for
the app.

In this case, we do not have that luxury so to use this application....

Any of the parameters they specify in the documentation can be put after
the """C:\Program Files\IZArc\IZARCC.exe""

The quotes and spaces are VERY important - note the use of two spaces
after the .exe""
I found if I didn't have two, the first letter (c) for example would be
left off with obvious bad consequences!

Thom

Subject: [talkbws] Zipping Files

Does anyone know how to create a zip file at the end of a script using
IZARC? I have a command line from IZARC, but it doesn't seem to be
working.

Izarcc test.zip *.doc
-----> compress all *.doc files from current directory to archive
test.zip
