I just recently worked through this using BWS from within Access. Assuming you
have BWS installed on the pc... it's as easy as including a function in Access
and then calling it from a macro or another subroutine. Here is the routine I
wrote:

Function SendMail(psMessageSubject As String, psMessageBody As String)

Dim b As BostonWorkStation70.BostonWorkStation
Dim lsMailReturn As String

' Set the new object
Set b = New BostonWorkStation70.BostonWorkStation

' Send the email
lsMailReturn = b.SendMail("[email protected]", psMessageSubject, psMessageBody,
"[email protected]", _
                            "", "yourmail.server ", "", "", "", False)

' release it
Set b = Nothing

End Function

In Access you'll also need to include the BWS reference. While you are
creating your function, go to Tools / References and check 'Boston Workstation
7.0 Main DLL'. This gives you access to the
BostonWorkstation70.BostonWorkstation object.

We have also used the 'ClickYes' executable as mentioned below. That works
too. There's more than one way to script a cat.

There is a Windows executable version of express click yes that can be set to
wait the system tray for the "A program is attempting to send an email on your
behalf. Do you want to continue?" warning. It will automatically click the yes
whenever the warning form pops up. So, your Access solution will be enough. The
setting that causes that warning is a simple checkbox on the exchange server.
Good luck trying to get permission to change it.

Use boston's built in email command.

Subject: [talkbws] Click Yes...

We use MS Access to generate daily reports that get distributed to staff each
day.
We send to about 20 different departments and we would like to automate this
process.
The only thing holding us back is the "A program is attempting to send an email
on your behalf. Do you want to continue?" warning.

Does anyone have a solution via Boston that will "Click Yes" when asked this
question (it's a security warning from Outlook)?
Or is this my only solution?:
