Subject: [talkbws] RE: Download an NPR report with BWS 6.5

There is a 3rd party solution from Interbit Data, Inc., called MPrint.
MPrint allows you to set up a Meditech Print Device that will spool the
print job to a networked drive (same as DOWNLOAD).

So rather than typing DOWNLOAD and then getting the 'save as' window
pop-up, you will simply enter the MPrint device name. When finished
running, the report shows up in your specified network folder. This
avoids using the 'save as' window and you can have the PC locked while
scripts run.

You can also set up MPrint to watch the network folder so that when a
specific named report does show up, it will run an executable or bat
file that can do whatever you want (copy it to multiple locations,
extract it to a dbf or xls file using Monarch, etc, etc).

Hope this helps.

I do not have an exact solution to this - but I have avoided the
situation in the past by spooling the report to an ftp spool group so
that I do not get this prompt but the file is still downloaded. Hope
this is helpful.

Subject: [talkbws] Download an NPR report with BWS 6.5

Hi,

I'm making changes to an old script that was written in BWS 7 and uses
Meditech Workstation v3.26.

I making a call to an NPR report that I want to "download" to a network
drive.

When I have the script enter DOWNLOAD at the Print On prompt, the
windows "Save As" popup appears where the path and filename of the file
will be entered.

Does anyone know a graceful way to access this popup so I can enter the
path and filename?

Thanks!
