Greetings, Whew - glad it worked :) Today that command is not learnable - it would take a lot of "mechanisms" (e.g. a live Windows connection to the application) to make long story short.
Here is how I found the User id:<Editable text> etc. 1. Turn off recording - Select Connect - Windows - connect to IE (I used a separate instance of BWS...) 2. Toggle off Auto View Method in Windows toolbar - select Smart in the adjacent (view method) dropdown which adds the Smart toolbar 3. In the Smart Toolbar, I changed the dropdown that reads Window to read Find 4. Take the mouse pointer, hover over the User name field in the app and tap the shift key. In BWS, the smart toolbar will display the UserID:<Editable text> Rinse and repeat Regards, Thom Thom C. That was perfect, thanks. I just looked in the BWS Help for the cSmart class, and I have a follow up question on Smart Dialog. Taking your example: SmartDialog("Connect to *", "User name:<Editable text>").Value = "USERID" Is there more info available on the arguments - specifically, where did <Editable text> come from? The rest is intuitive. Also, is this "learnable"? I'm using v9.8 patch 741 build 1377. Greetings, It doesn't show the structure because that screen it isn't a webpage - it's a window spawned by IE so it needs to be handled separately. There's several different approaches you could take - ranging from simple SendKeys to connecting to the window with the Windows connection. However current shipping of BWS has a really nice feature called SmartDialog that is perfect for this situation. I'll spare folks the long write up on this and just post a practical example that worked well for me. http://www.bostonworkstation.com/customer_center/script_center/script_de tails.aspx?id=381&cat=11 But as a teaser, this command is also useful for the Select a connection window in Meditech Magic - see Meditech Magic Useful Routines in the script library. Hi, I have a question about scripting to a web page, something I'm just learning. As an exercise, I want to write a script that will connect to Meditech Customer Service home page. When my script (which is only a few lines long) gets to the point where the User name and password popup window appears, I'm not sure how to proceed. How would I attach myself to that popup? It doesn't expose it's structure to the Web Document List, so I'm not sure how to code this. Could anyone give me a pointer? Thanks.
