Greetings, You can use:
key "{~}"
You can do the same thing for the %, ^, and +. The { } instructs the
WorkStation to send just the thing in the middle for keys that otherwise do
things:
+ is shift, % is the alt, ^ is control.
The Replace command is useful for replacing the ~ with {~} inside a larger
"thing" - like your file name for example:
Enter Replace("c:\Prog~f\My ~bigfile.txt", "~", "{~}")

We have written a script to KEY in a path\filename into a window... works
great... unless the path has a tilde character. The tilde is interpreted as an
ENTER key so it cuts off the file name. For example, this filename
"C:\DOCUME~1\202374\LOCALS~1\Temp\filename.txt" gets truncated at "C:\DOCUME"
because the ~ is interpreted as pressing the ENTER key (and pressing the ENTER
key invokes the default Okay button on the window).
Is there a way to escape the tilde or represent it differently so that the KEY
statement doesn't interpret it as an ENTER?
