Using Smart Dialog for Internet Explorer common windows dialogs
The Save As dialog and similar common windows dialogs can be scripted using the
SmartDialog command. You need to use an Activate command for the caption of the
dialog prior to executing the command.
For example:
Activate "Save As",True
It is important that Improve Activate has been run on the PC (see Programs ->
Boston WorkStation->Utilitles)

SmartDialog basically allows the use of Smart methods and properties without
needing a Windows connection:
.Value=
.Click
.DoAction
stateText= .StateText

So as you can see, the command really returns a Smart object that points to the
desired component - with all caviots surrrounding the ability of the command to
do it's job.

The command has 2 main parameters:
sCaption
sName
sCaption is what you would use for an Activate or Windows connection to the
desired application
sName is the Find string for the component you wish to interact with using
SmartDialog.
So for example to fill in the file name field in the Save As dialog box, the
command would be:
SmartDialog("Save As", "File name:<Editable text>").Value =
"c:\TEST.txt<file:///c:\TEST.txt>"

File name:<Editable text>" is retrieved using a Windows connection to the
desired application and using Smart.

Subject: [talkbws] Running the Save As from the Internet

Hi,

I am trying to write a script that downloads a weekly file. I migrate to the
site, choose the correct weekly file, and tell it to download without any
problem. When the "Save As" screen pops up, I am able to connect to it, and
enter the path/name of my file without any issues. However, I cannot get it to
save. I have tried clicking the save button as well as keying "%S" . Either
way works perfectly from my desktop but not from BWS. I have a lot of
experience writing BWS scripts for Meditech, but this is my first for the
Internet, so I may be overlooking something simple. Any ideas would be
appreciated.
