Afraid not much for me to go on here. But reading the tea leaves :) Leaf #1: works perfectly every time I run it manually. That suggests something locking the PC, or otherwise making it so something can't run. I don't know what is being executed to successfully cause this entry"Excel running, launching WatchDog on 8 min countdown." Does the machine/script magically "start going" as soon as you log into it - that's lends itself to suggestion a locking situation
Leaf #2: I saw this one other time about a month ago and I just moved that script to a different box and it works fine there. What are the common "dependencies"? Think like an auto mechanic - an engine needs 4 things to run: Fuel, Spark, Air, Compression. - #3 is nearly always there, and #4 is a rare catastrophic failure- so you've already narrowed down where to look by 50% :) Rule out one or the other category (whichever is easiest to test!) A given script also has its "things" it needs to run. There's no magic here - something changed on Machine #1 - something that was not in place on the new PC. Find that and you've solved it. Beyond that, we'd need to dive into particulars - feel free to call support for help! Thom, This may be a good question for you. I have a script that just stopped working last week. I tried everything and it works perfectly every time I run it manually. It is scheduled to run every morning at 5:30 AM. It fires correctly, but the script doesn't appear to be going through the steps. I saw this one other time about a month ago and I just moved that script to a different box and it works fine there. Now I'm seeing it on another script. Hi, While I don't have a suggestion to your actual question. It is very important, when running our software on any Windows Server OS, make sure it is set up to favor foreground Programs. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff458358.aspx Otherwise the performance of "user" applications in general will be sub optimal. Hi everyone, I've been using BWS for 6+ years and I have 8 boxes. I recently migrated to Server 2008 (64 bit) machines and have been using Tight VNC to remote into each box. I've noticed the remote connection is now lagging and over the past month some scripts just don't run anymore. Scripts that should take 20 mins to run are now showing as 7 seconds in the log file and they aren't hitting the error routine. Anyone else have any issues on Server 2008 or can suggest another "remote" software to use?
