Being relatively new to Meditech (going on 6 months now),
every new thing is a tip to me! At certain fields (“querys”
in MeditechSpeak, I think), for example the patient’s
visit number in ABS, if you back up one too many screens you may find yourself
in the Patient ID field with no data. If you key <space><enter>,
the last patient’s visit number (the one you were working with before
going back too far) will be input into the field. Before I found out about
this, I was saving the visit number so that I could re-enter it if my user got
back to that particular screen and field. I haven’t tried this in a lot of places, but I do know
that in Magic ABS and NUR it works for many of the inputs like visit number, Medical
ID, employee, etc. I think it has to do with the main purpose of what you are
doing. Try it, and you could save yourself some coding (instead of creating a
local or global to store a number, just use the key combo and let Meditech do
the work!). “Better computing is my ONLY
business” Tip o’ de hat
