Kris,

You might change to the file’s directory before the Shell_ as in:

            ChDir “c:\directory”

You can also create a working Shortcut to the executable and Shell_ to the .lnk file that contains the Shortcut.

Subject: [Talk] Shelling an application

I am developing script to automate downloading a file and running a process using McKesson Pathways Compliance Advisor (PCA).

What we want to happen is using Star, download the UB92 files.  Then, start the Claim File Utility Interface in PCA to run a process.  I’m trying to use the Shell_ command to start the application.  If I double-click the file in My Computer, the application opens fine.  When I use the Shell_ command to run the application, I get garbage for the template file names.  I’ve even tried running the application from command window and from the Run.  The only time I get the garbage is when I use the Shell_ command.

I’ve attached screen shots in case it helps.

I’ve also tried putting the command to run the utility in a bat file and calling the bat file from the BWS script, but it does not run.

I would appreciate any suggestions any one has.

Thank you!
