Greetings, Here are instructions for connecting to SmarTerm: The SmarTerm Connection operates as a macro in the SmarTerm emulation. The macro is provided in the file Bss6.stm in C:\BSS70\ which should be placed in the SmarTerm Macros directory. It is also suggested that you configure SmarTerm to run the macro on when the session is loaded. The connection to SmarTerm uses the Stream Connection:
Connect "smarterm", stStream So basically load the macro, run it in SmarTerm and then use a Stream connection in Boston WorkStation. The Shell command is used to launch an application, document or URL. So in the case of connecting to HBOWem you have to first launch HBOWem (the first Shell) Then launch the Boston WorkStation HBOWem Server (the second Shell) And finally connect in with Stream connection Why do you have to launch the HBOWem Server? It's job is to "talk" to HBOWem for us - and then we can communicate with it via a Stream Connection. Hope this helps! Regards, Thom Thom C. What i am trying to do is to create a script for logging into Misys through a terminal emulator program SmartTerm (persoft application). Also, I am trying to get an understanding on how to use the 'shell' command. >From my training session, i was shown how to launch HBOWEM (the Mckesson System). I had to have 2 shell operations, one to the HBOWEM32.exe, one to HBOWEMserver.exe (in the the Bss70 directory) and lastly to connect to HBO_STAR stStream. Why? What does each shell operation activate? And am i to have similar shell operations for Misys / Misys GUI?? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
