Greetings,
Navigator views can launch HBOWem instances. It may be that it launches an
HBOWem instance with a different session name than if launched by hand ???
(I'm speculating here that this can indeed happen - STAR folks would know
better than I)
BTW - the Session name for a given HBOWem instance can be found under File
-> Session Manager(?) in HBOWem

Anyhow.

BWS needs to connect to the "spawned" HBOWem instances. There's no magic to
Navigator spawned instances - they are no different than HBOWem's launched
stand alone. So the same connection procedure applies:

HBOWemServer is shelled - it picks up the HBOWem Session name. (or the
HBOWemServer is shelled as described in the earlier Talk post) so that it
connects to a specified Session name.

BWS script then connects to that session using Connect "SessionName",
stStream.

The above is a long winded way of describing a two command process (Shell
HBOWemServer, Connect "SessionName",stStream

The earlier post said it well :')

Now....

If there are more than one instance of HBOWem going with different session
names and each needed to be under the control of a BWS script - there would
be two HBOWemServers going - one connected to each Session and scripts
connected as described above.

An uncommon wrinkle to the situation is if there are two (or more) instances
of HBOWem configured with the SAME Session name. Here there would need to be
two HBOWemServers running - but, wouldn't they be connected to the same
"session name" - OOH NO whatever do I connect to???

Actually, you can connect to something called a Channel number - I'll spare
the details, but you can connect to "Channel1",stStream and
"Channel2",stStream.

Regards,
Thom

Shell "C:\Program Files\McKesson\STAR Navigator 10\HBOC32\MckBoot.exe

STEP 2
Shell_ """C:\Bss70\HBOWEMServer.exe""": Connect "FinancialSystem",

I hope this helps.

Subject: [Talk] STAR Navigator & HBOWem

We have a script running on our client workstations in our Business
office.

The script works great with HBOWem. I do not have it configured for
Navigator.

The script works wonderfully if HBOWem is running. But, if Navigator is
running at the same time, the script fails. So, some of the end users
use BOTH HBOWem and Navigator at the desktop. I want the script to
ignore Navigator and just connect to the standard HBOWem.

Does anyone use HBOWem and Navigator simultaneously and successfully
connect to ONLY HBOWem?
