Greetings,

The DataStation supports writing back to the source data only if that
source data is Excel. The other file types do not do this. I'm assuming by
"database" you're not meaning Excel. If you are meaning Excel, they you want
to check the "write back to source" option when you're building the Open
command in your script - the Help describes what to do here - or of course
the support folks could help too.

If you're wanting to write back to a SQL database we've got a guy here
that's good with that type stuff who could help you out here with that. Send
in a ping to [EMAIL PROTECTED] if this is the case.

If it's a flat file format - writing back directly gets sort of dicey
because you'd need to figure out "where it goes". If it were me, I'd look
into the DataStation reporting feature since it could easily output a
"cloned" file that has the "updated" value.

. And perhaps the Report feature does what you want here anyway (although in
a different way) , if what is desired is a record of what the script
processed.

Regards,

Thom

Subject: [Talk] Updating database after record is processed

Hi,

I would like to update a record in my database after I process it. I know
how to pull data with datastation, but not sure how to

update the database after I process a record. Thanks.
