  I have a few scripts that do something similar to this... I have tackled it
in a couple different ways.

  1st.. I have an FTP vb module (free on the web) that I use, I download a
directory listing and find the most recent file and download it (whatever the
name. I use the date modified attribute).

  2nd. If I know for sure what the filename should be I would do something
like this:

  Dim tmpDate as string

  Dim tmpFile as string

  Dim tmpExt as string

  Dim tmpFileName as string

  tmpDate = Format(Now,"YYYYMMDD") ' Using the format function you can arrange
the date in any order you would like.

  'You could also use the DateAdd function in here to get a past date:

  tmpDate = Format(DateAdd("d",-1,Now),"YYYYMMDD")

  YYYYMMDD is year, month, date.. You can also rearrange this in whatever order
you need.

  tmpFile = "SomeFile"

  tmpExt = ".txt"

  tmpFileName = tmpfile & tmpDate & tmpExt

  Subject: [Talk] FTP Question

  I have a script that needs to get 3 files from a vendors ftp site. The files
names change daily as the first part of

  the name is the days date. I seem to be able to get it to work if the name
is the same but I can figure out

  how to take the variable name into account.

  Thanks,

  Gary Williams
