I could have used Zend Platform's or Zend Core for Apache and PHP.
Another option. So far, Zend Studio 5.1 seems pretty fast.

First major gotcha -- that Windows XP disk I though I had...it's an
upgrade version...

I believe i saw a start and stop widget for MySQL, however you can
install the startup item so that MySQL starts on boot.

If you are going to use Zend Studio why did you not just install Zend
Platform?  Don't you need that to do debugging?
