Hi,
Make sure Windows is not hiding  known file extensions.

Go to folder options and under advance you should be able to find the item.

Did window eyes 9.01 change the way files are read? I no longer hear the 
file extension. I went to view and hit enter on details, but it changed 
nothing. Running Vista. please help.
