Actually, being able to record what you hear from the web or anywhere is a function of your sound card. Of course, you can record from output jacks or via a microphone, but the feature that lets you record directly what is coming from your sound card isn't always available. My on-board sound is Realtec High-Definition Audio, and it has a feature called "Stereo Mix" which allows for recording just what you are hearing through your speakers. This feature can be hidden and can show up if you check two items in the context menu while in the recording tab of sounds. The two items are called "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices". I won't debate the point, and you are right perhaps as far as advantages, but there are some disadvantages. Some things xp would do are gone in windows seven. One glaring example, I can no longer record baseball games for later play as I could in xp. No longer can you record what you are listening to, for example if you want to record a tutorial. Just one example. 73 Butch WA0VJR Node 3148 Wallace, ks. On Sat, 4 Apr 2015, Jim Grimsby JR. via Talk wrote: > Yes at the risk of making people who love xp mad at me and I am sorry in > advance.
