Hi everyone,

I'm writing to let you all know about the improvements included in the
newest release of CapEnhance.

Also, just in case some of you are using synthesizers which did not allow
you to benefit from the previous version of this app, you're in for a
pleasant surprise, that is, the ability to change the volume of capital
letters!

CapEnhance may be found in the General category of apps, and so you can
install it using the AppGet utility accessed from the Apps menu in the
Window-Eyes control panel.

You can also view information about the app and download it from the
CapEnhance App Central URL here:

I hope you all enjoy the current release of CapEnhance, and please read on
for a taste of the CapEnhance smorgasbord. Smile

All the best,

Rod Hutton

Changes in version 1.2

If you are upgrading from version 1.1 or earlier of CapEnhance, here is a
summary of the changes and features of the current release:

. the Configuration dialog has changed; the edit boxes have been
replaced with track bars for easier setting adjustment

. while Tone change was added to Pitch change in version 1.1, as was
the ability to adjust these in either direction, version 1.2 adds Volume
change to the list of adjustable parameters, offering at least one
enhancement for synthesizers which do not support either pitch or tone
changes

. perhaps the most significant improvement in the current release
is the ability to individually customize the speaking of caps for each of
your synthesizers, and, once configured, parameter switching takes place
automatically

Prliminary notes and information

The current design of CapEnhance is the result of many hours of intense
reflection and experimentation. The goal which fueled the original app
design was to offer the user greater flexibility in enhancing the speaking
of caps. To that end, tone, volume, the ability to lower or raise each of
these parameters, and synthesizer-specific enhancements have all been added
to the single feature present in the app's initial release, namely, pitch
increase. Despite the current version's impressive feature set, it
eventually became apparent that the app's single missing feature was the
ability for the user to transition easily between the enhanced speaking of
caps provided by CapEnhance and the normal Window-Eyes cap-handling method.
Therefore, for all of the benefits the app offers, perhaps its most flexible
feature is the freedom it offers to enjoy the best of both worlds, the
normal and enhanced way of handling caps.
