Hi Dave, If you know the file you're looking for is in a particular folder or a sub-folder of this folder, then, with the folder window open, tab repeatedly until you reach an edit box with the lable Search box. Then, begin typing the first few letters of the file name, and then you should hear a click which tells you that some files have been found. If you press tab once, you should be in the list of search results. Note that the display of files can be restored to the view it had previously, that is, not restricted by the criteria you had entered, by tabbing back to the edit box and pressing the delete key which clears the search criteria. Note also that the search can often take time for the results to fully populate which is why you may think that nothing happened. Further, you can search for files of a certain type by typing the asterisk character (*) followed by a period and followed by the file extension, for example DOCX, Word files.

I press CTRL and the ESC keys, and I get the Search pane. I type something into it, and if I want to start a program, this works well enough. But if I am looking for a non-executable file, I have no success. Tabbing around gives me nothing. Arrowing around gives me nothing. I even know the file is on the system, and what folder it would be found, but I can not find it by using the Search in Win 7.
