Hi,
Try alt-f, t. That should bring you into options.
Alt-t won't work in Office 2007 or later to bring you to tools as there is
no longer a tools "menu."

Hello Rod:

I also get a ding when using only ALT - T. However, if I do ALT - F and
arrow down to options, WE tells me the shortcut is ALT - F, T.

Rick

Hi Richard,

I'm posting my reply to you back to the talk list to see if anyone else can
help as well.
If I am at my Inbox, that is, in the main window of Outlook, and press Alt-F
and then press T, that opens Options.
However, from my Inbox, if I press Alt-T or Alt-P, I get a ding.
I had referred to the T which selects Options from the File menu as the
accelerator, but I guess you're right, it's really called a shortcut.
Anyway, I figure as I move down the File menu and select Options, I should
hear Options, T, which should alert me to the existence of the shortcut
keystroke.
However, I am not hearing this, and I'm wondering why.

Thanks,

Rod

Hi Rod:
I think you are referring to the shortcut key. An accelerator key doesn't
open a ribbon; it performs an action without opening the ribbon.
BTW, "ALT-p" is the key-combination for Options in Outlook 2010. "ALT-t"
should get you a ding.
  HTH.

Hi everyone,

Something which has been troubling me for some time is that many people seem
to know certain accelerators for menu items in Outlook 2010, but these don't
speak for me even though I have the global setting to speak them turned on
and I have the proper sets installed.

An example is that T is the accelerator for Options on the File menu and yet
I don't hear the T when I highlight Options.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Rod
