Matthew, Try minimizing the ribbon. Tap on the Alt key and arrow right. For me the "Minimize the Ribbon" tab is the last tab. Note if it is pressed or not. If not, tap the spacebar while on that item. We should then speak "pressed.."
What may be happening is that a little pop up sits on the screen sometimes in Word 2010 and 2013 when you're copying material. I turned this popup on accidentally and had a hard time getting rid of it. Word displays the contents of the Clipboard to view the last several items you cut or copied. That's nice enough if you can use it, but as far as I can tell the clipboard isn't accessible with the standard cursor keys. It may be somehow, but I haven't been able to make it work. Still worse, until I found how to minimize the ribbon, I could find no way to make it go away. Minimizing the ribbon seems to do it. So, I hope this helps and that what I've described will work for you. -----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+richard.petty=earthlink....@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Matthew Chao via Talk Sent: Wednesday, May 27, 2015 3:52 PM To: talk@lists.window-eyes.com Subject: Highlighting and Deleting in Office 2013 Hi, Folks. I seem to be having a problem with Office 2013 (I think). In older versions of Office, I could hilight the word I wanted to use, hit Delete, and it would be gone. Not anymore. Instead, it gives me options referring to clearing the clipboard. Can I change this? It's very annoying. Thanks in advance.--Matthew Chao. _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
