Hi Rod, I've tried connecting my Brailliant display to my IPhone and reading a Kindle book. Doing that, the display acts as I would expect I.E. there are no gaps at all.
I've now been through all the settings in the WE control panel concerned with Braille and none of them seem to make any difference. I can pan to the right twice and I get 2 lines of complete text. The third time, I get 1 word and the rest of the display is blank. This is the middle of a sentence but I presume it must be the end of the line on the screen. It feels to me like a Window Eyes issue with the Brailliant 40 cell display. Perhaps I'll have to send off an email to AI Support. Yusuf I've set up a FundMe account to help cover the ongoing costs of my PhD. I'd be very grateful if you'd consider donating. And how does NVDA handle all similar situations, since I've looked at the NVDA manual and it details its support for each display? I'm getting my first braille display in the next week and so I'm new to all of this stuff, but I've written apps and I'm a kind of system detective and so at least I know we can track down if something's wrong or it's just the way the display works. Will keep the list updated as it may well be a WE and Brailliant issue. Yusuf I've set up a FundMe account to help cover the ongoing costs of my PhD. I'd be very grateful if you'd consider donating. I would say try to find the settings which work and apply them to the situations where the problems are occurring. Bill, I'm using the older style Brailliant which doesn't have thumb keys. It only has the 3 vertical buttons at the very left and very right ends of the Braille display. Oh, and of course the routing keys above each cell. Rod, I don't think there are any graphics in this particular file, it also happens across many different files, in which there are no graphics. I guess the next thing for me to do is to look at the settings of the Brailliant itself to see if there's anything to adjust. I'll also try connecting it to my IPhone to narrow down if this is a Brailliant issue or a Window Eyes one. Cheers Yusuf I've set up a FundMe account to help cover the ongoing costs of my PhD. Of course, it would mean that the other graphic settings would have to be set to None for verbosity and no dots. I'm just speculating. It's a waste of paper and patience, but I have a feeling this might be mirrored or duplicated when you're using a display. Just a suggestion.
