Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your detailed information. I don't have Windows 10 yet, but it is
sounding better and better. I like the idea of Siri having a sister. Smile.

Hi paulette.

If you're familiar with Apple devices, Cortana is like Siri. You can ask it
different questions, and it will either answer them with its female voice,
which sounds quite good, or it will open a web page in your default browser
so you can read the information. One thing you can ask Cortana is "Tell me
a joke." Her humor is right up my alley. You can ask the time,
temperature, weather, and many other things. Some of these are just for
fun, but some of what Cortana can do is pretty impressive.

To activate Cortana in Windows 10, hit the WINDOWS key to activate the start
menu, then TAB once to get to the microphone button. Hit SPACE on it, and
you should hear a tone from Cortana, indicating you can speak to her.
Another tone will sound to indicate the information is being processed, and
you will either get an audio answer from her, or a web site will open.

If you don't see a microphone button, then it means you have to set up
Cortana. I called up Microsoft accessibility to do this, so I don't know
what all is needed to be done. Contrary to what the consultant told me at
Microsoft, you don't need a logon password to get it to work. You do,
however, need a Microsoft account, and if you have an Outlook.com account
you're good to go.

One thing I almost forgot. You can have Cortana automaticly activate when
you say "Hey Cortana". I personally don't use this, because anything in the
vicinity of the microphone can activate it.

That's about all I can think of to mention. Hope this is useful.

Have a great day, and don't work too hard.
