In Windows 7, to get Narrator up, hit windows+U, then, after a few seconds,
hit alt+N to initialize Narrator.
Note, to the best of my knowledge, this method still works in 8.1. It's
just that in 8.1, windows+enter was introduced as even a quicker way.

Subject: W E 9.2, Win 10, and my 2 cents worth
I upgraded my HP desktop from 8.1 to Windows 10 yesterday without incident.
I very much appreciated Mark Solomon's excellent upgrade instructions and
found that my experience was exactly as Mark described.
I was a bit reluctant to upgrade as I had installed 9.2 a few days ago and
found that was working extremely well with Windows 8.1. After the upgrade,
9.2 is working equally well. I am not finding any of the lag or crash
issues that some have reported. My only problem thus far is that I am
unable to select internet explorer as my default browser as outlined in
another message.
I plan to upgrade my windows 7 Asus laptop later this week but can't
remember how to launch and close Narrator in windows 7.
