Thanks; I'll put this on the list as a suggestion for others for now.

I went and looked in the "optional" list of updates and there was one
graphics adapter listed. I downloaded the update and just now I woke up the
pc and it's working fine. Too soom to tell although, cuz it doesn't happen
everytime the pc sleeps. lol

Hi,

Rick Thomas also mentioned this recently.

I have a work pc which goes into sleep any time I'm away from the keyboard
for more than a few minutes, and I have a laptop at home which goes into
sleep frequent to save battery. I am not seeing this.

My only thought was that (assuming you aren't using Windows XP) that perhaps
there's a driver issue on some pcs, and updating the video or the audio
driver may solve this. Try running narrator if WE stops responding after
sleep to see if the sound card is still working; if you can't get any sounds
at all, perhaps the audio driver should be the first to be looked at.

If it's working, could you get any sighted help to tell you if the screen is
looking ok after sleep? Can you restart WE and does that work, or can you
run NVDA or narrator? If none of them will run, and you have sound, perhaps
the video driver is next on the list?

Do you know how to read the Windows event log? You could check the events
for any errors which happen around the time of going into sleep or coming
out, to see if they give you a clue as to what is failing.

If you aren't using the free Office version of Window-Eyes, why not give WE
support a ring and ask for their help; they know a lot of the answers that
we can only guess at here.

Hth and please do let us know if you find anything.

I’ve noticed that since the last batch or so of Windows important updates
the issue with loosing speech after the PC sleeps seems to be happening more
