I'm using Windows 7 and the usual method of selecting text by holding down the shift key and moving the cursor using the standard arrow keys (not the keypad arrow keys) works for me.

Hi Listers,

It's been a while, but here goes.

/Could someone please tell me if it is possible to select text for cutting and pasting in Word Pad? It appears not to be doable here.

I've been trying to do this the standard way, by using the shift arrow keys, but to no avail. At At first, I thought that WE 9.2 just refused to read the selected text, but now I find that WP just doesn't carry out the process. I am using WP to accomplish what I consider small tasks, like in this case, keeping a listing of recommended books for a friend which includes annotations, or maybe for future downloading from Bookshare and the like.

I know I could use MSWord, but I really don't wish to open up such a large program for such off handed and small task. Just a hangup of mine I guess.

But if any one could please help me with this one I would really appreciate it. This issue has been driving me a bit nuts for a while.

Thanks ,

Larry
