And has anyone thought that this could be very useful in programs like
Vmware where the virtual machine's monitor so to speak is printed as an
image? So you could do an alt-print screen to capture the image, as
always, then Virtual View with its cool new OCR functionality will kick
in and recognize the captured image. This way one could bypass Windows
and Linux Easy Installs and install the guest operating systems
manually! Just a very good example of the convenience of alt-print
screen and Virtual View's cool new OCR functionality!

I should point out that Alt-Print Screen is nothing more than a convenience.
And optional feature, if you will. It has no bearing on the core functionality
of Virtual View. We just thought it'd be a nice addition. The core
functionality of Virtual View involves launching Virtual View, and either
selecting a window or file to virtualize. That hasn't changed, except for the
addition of being able to select files instead of windows. The only reason we
piggy-backed on Alt-Print Screen is because, as Tom mentioned, it's an
operating system hotkey that generates an image. Why not, then, offer the
ability to OCR that image what with the new OCR functionality. Again, Alt-Print
Screen has nothing to do with whether or not Virtual View works. Alt-Print
screen is just so you can OCR the active window easily. It's a convenience
thing.
Thanks,
Aaron
