Hi Tom,
I'm using Windows 7. All Event Status Manager said was OK Close. Two
of the things I unchecked were things on the screen with no
explanation. I know what I did, so I can undo it if something isn't
working correctly.--Linda

Hi Linda,
The event viewer is a Windows service used to troubleshoot problems.
You can see a list of events including critical errors and warnings.
But you never see or hear from it unless you open it. And I have no
idea what the cyberlink things you turned off are. So remember what
you did if you have any problems.
Insert-S is a Window-Eyes hot key to display the system tray in an
accessible manner. What's in there is typically things that run at
start up. That's where Window-Eyes will be by default so it won't be
in the Alt-Tab order when moving between windows.
I had done a very quick search on Google and saw an event manager
program for Epson printers/scanners but didn't even look to see if
it was needed or not. Often these things aren't. And you can uncheck
them under the start up tab in MSConfig or in Task Manager in Windows 10.
But my real point is that randomly disabling things can lead to
serious problems. And Uncle Google can be very helpful with these things.
Good luck,
Tom
