i'm not kenny
but the biggest problem i have is with wineyes 9.2. it needs more work before it is used with windows 7 or 10 ,which i have and use. it loses speech when you open the start menu sometimes and the only fix is to reload w e. i have a hard time trying to get to the live tiles? in the apps list. some of them i haven't figured out how to get to them unless i use the mouse. with searches in the start menu there are times when the results will not speak or i have to wait 5 or 10 seconds for w e to catch up with my up and down arrow key strokes.
it does this in firefox and i e 11 with browse mode too.
with the windows update w e doesn't tell me when a update is installing or not. i have to find this info with the mouse and wait until it has finished. the progress indicator does not always work for this. sometimes i have to block then unblock the screen to get any indication that something is going on. there must be some way to make w e read pop up dialog boxes automatically without haveing to press shift control w every time.
all the dialogs say is ok.
like the u a c, the bank when it says a transaction was completed or when it warns you you will be logged off if you don't click continue. etc. with firefox the option to read entire dialog or entire message boxes can not be used because w e treats a firefox screen as a dialog or message box and will read the entire screen. this is not the read entire page option in browse mode menus. i have this option turned off, to read nothing.

firefox and or w e will hang every time i open the bookmark list with control i. my work around for this is to turn browse mode and auto load off before i open it. after i search for a bookmark and go to the link then close the bookmark list and turn autoload and browse mode back on it will not hang.
i can use narator or nvda for the bookmark list with no problems.
with firefox 38 esr version on many pages w e treats one heading as more then one and w e will re read the same headings over and over again. with some pages w e will re read the entire page when it reatches a heading that is treated as 2 headdings when it is really one. with shop.safeway.com when you search for items w e will not read the prices when you arrow through the list. it justs says price and price. i have to turn browse mode off then go to the price. then w e will read it. then turn browse mode back on to read the next item in the list.

A question for you, Kenny. Do you have any vision at all? I have heard that Windows 10 is a bear if you do not. I am intrigued that you said you can use it without a problem.

I know this doesn't sound good. but microsoft has the habit of doing
this through windows update. I am running windows 10 on my laptop and it
runs great. I have no problems with windows 10. The best thing I would
do is take the check out of the windows 10 update, and download all the
other updates. And if you want to go ahead and download windows 10
latter on, then you can put a check back in the update and hit the
install button.

I am also running Win-7 still, but when I go to the downloads, they are
usually all checked, and Win-10 is the last on the list, and I just uncheck
it, and all is good to go.

Subject: monthly updates

Hi,

I am attempting to install the monthly updates on my W 7 HP 32 bit
system and it keeps trying to download W10. There are 12 or 13 updates
for W7 and after checking all the boxes, pressing space on OK, I am left
with a "get started" option. This is the only option available as the
'install button" is no longer to be found.

Pressing enter on this options starts the download of the monthly
updates but it also says at the top, "downloading Windows 10".

As I am not ready to install W10 as yet, turning off the modem stopped
the download of all updates. Checking the update history, it showed that
the intended updates failed but the first entry mentioned that the
download of W10 also failed.

Has anyone come across this one and figured out how to get the monthly
updates without triggering a W10 invasion?

Thanks
Neville.
