Curtis,

You cannot hit enter on the search field. This triggers the search button. There are two ways to go into the search field and enter your text.

When you're on the search edit box either by arrowing to it or hitting E to get there, hit Control-Shift-A to turn browse mode off. If Automatic forms interaction is on, which it is by default, tabbing to the search field will automatically turn browse mode off.

Then type your search text and hit ENTER.

Hth,
Tom

If you have automatic form interaction

try, and see what happens! Is there any setting I need to change to
prevent the "search" button from being pressed before I put any data in
the "search" field?
