One can still create set files, that functionality wasn't removed, just could be enhanced with scripts/apps.

I think due to uia, and osm issues, set files are less useful than they used to be, not anyones fault, just the way things are being displayed with no osm makes a lot of what is in a set file much less valuable than it used to be.
