Hi Mike. The 3 typing programs that I know of that are self-voicing are:
Talking typing teacher from the braille superstore here in Canada Talking typer for windows, by APH And Typeabillity from Yes accessible which works only with the JAWS screen reader. Talking Typer can be used with a screen reader, or it can be used with its self-voicing mode with SAPI speech. Its not free, however there is a demo you can download that will run for only 15 minutes. -----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+skyt=shaw...@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Mike Bernard via Talk Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2017 4:50 PM To: 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' Subject: accessible typing program for the visually impaired Hi everyone, Being that I already know how to type, this may sound like a silly question., but I'm looking for an accessible typing program that people with visual impairments can use, that's either self-talking, or compatible with Window-Eyes. You see, in the computer class I'm currently in, as part of the course, we have to do timed writings which are designed to help increase typing speed. However, the instructor uses typing.com. I've found that while typing.com does appear user-friendly with Window-Eyes as far as navigating the site itself goes, accessing the lessons is not quite as user-friendly. So, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a software program to which I could use that would allow me to do timed writings to which I can then submit to my professor, so that she can see my progress.
