I think part of the question -- and I have the same question -- is not only
what programs are accessible but what programs are accessible and do a good
job finding viruses. The reason a lot of us went with Nod-32 is that it was
not only accessible in the day it also had an excellent reputation as a
virus checker.

Why not just use Windows Defender. It's free and comes integrated with 
Windows. Very accessible.
