Wasn't a program rewrite that was needed. Freedom had an in with state
agencies, veterans and so forth. When I was a client in Nevada and also
here in Kansas, all they knew or cared about was jaws. It was like a
religion, and still is in some cases.

I have suspected the Window Eyes program was due for a Re-write from the
ground up, but this costs lots of money, and can take a couple of years
to do it right. Not enough cash, and they ran out of time to do it.
I doubt if there was anything the Users of Window Eyes could have done,
unless we all were willing to donate $500 to the cause, and even then,
it may not have been enough.
Protesting and getting as many people to agree with you doesn't get much
in the long run, other than make all of the participants feel good about
themselves. However, the end result is nothing different than what has
taken place.
I too wish it were different.
