I usually uncheck the compose in html option, and set new messages to
open in a new tab. I install the esc to close add-on and the Google
Contacts sync add-on, but that's about it.

Hi, sorry, but no, I will not be recording updated Thunderbird files.
Using Thunderbird with Window-Eyes still works pretty much out of the box and
as long as you learn how to use Thunderbird itself, there is really no need.
