I'll confess. I was in Window-Eyes when I first read your E-mail. I am now
in JAWS. As far as I can determine JAWS has no equivalent keystroke.
However, I have found 3 that will probably give you the information you
desire. Insert+End reads the top line of the window. Insert+PageDown reads
the bottom line of the window. Alt+Delete will read the position of the
active cursor. Hope this helps.

Subject: hotkey for reading the status line
Hello, does anyone know what the jaws hotkey is to read the status line
in a program? For example, in wineyes it is control insert s, but I
can't find what it is in jaws. Thanks for any help.
