i originally installed the f f 64 bit version. but it reverted back to the 32 bit version. maybe you need the 32 bit version. i have a 64bit windows. but for years firefox recommended useing the 32 bit version because it was more stable.

are you switching users? grin
like with me i am running as a standard user. but some programs will not run unless they run as administrator. so i have to make the changes in the desktop icons so they will run as administrator. but with window eyes running as a standard user and the program running as administrator window eyes browse mode will not run. i have to unload w e and run it as administrator too. then browse mode will work.
i have 2 window eyes icons on the desktop with shortcuts to load them.
if you have firefox running as administrator browse mode would not work until you load w e as administrator too.

Ok, got the 52.4 to download and it replaced FF56 without having to delete
it. It also kept all my bookmarks which made me happy.
Now the only problem is some of the WE functions are still not working. I
still have to use the tab to move through items because the arrow keys do
nothing. I checked about browse mode and it says browse mode not available.

I can not use the letter e to move to edit boxes and the same for the letter
x to move to check boxes.
I am sure the download was done properly because I have sighted help that
checked to make sure if my computer was 32 or 64 bit and made sure I had the
proper FF download chosen.
Any suggestions?

Dave

it still says 52.4 is still availible for download.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/
i didn't look here for the portable versions.
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

the firefox web page is hard to figure out though.
you have to find your version 32 or 64 bit then count how many download
buttons to match your version.
it speaks the versions first then the download links. afterwards.

Ok, I will see what I can do to find a portable version of FF Now one more
question if you don't mind.
Where do you go to download 52.4? Every place I go says it isn't available.
Thanks

52.4 will only be supported until about march next year. about the only way
you can continue useing it is to set it to never check for updates.
but after the next version is released you would not get anymore security
patches.
or find and use a portable version and set that to never update if it has
this option.
i would still export the bookmarks just in case.
i don't see this option in ff 52.4 it use to be in the bookmark pulldown in
orgen ize. but this option is not there.
from other posters i have read you do not have to uninstall firefox. if you
install the 52.4 over it it will retain your bookmarks. and color settings
if you set them.

I am using current version of explorer since I have to wait to have help
saving my bookmarks and delete firefox and get 52.4 ESR.
I was looking in the menus of explorer and I am just wondering if a pop up
would also be a tab? There is a command of control w to close tab. But I
am afraid to hide otherwise I may lose everything.

Subject: pop up windows

Hi,
I know there is a way to close a pop window but I do not know how to it.
I have a couple of web sites I use and I get a lot of pop up windows that
are playing video adds. Of course I can't turn down the sound because then
I will not be able to hear my screen reader. So any help would b
appreciated for when I am home alone and do not have a sighted person to
help me.

Thanks, Dave
