Yes, f12 brings up the save as dialog box where I can type the file name but
shift tabbing doesn't bring up what I need. The programme seems determined
that I should save my document in One Drive. In Windows 10 there was a
browse button which I could use to escape from One Drive - I'm still playing
but it is a mystery at the moment how to access my PC rather than One Drive.

The easiest way I have found is to press F12. After it is pressed, you will
be placed in a dialog with a suggested file name. You can edit this to your
liking. Press Shift+Tab, and you should be in a list of folders. Arrow to
the one you desire and press
Enter. Tab till you reach the file name and press Enter. Your file
should be saved in the desired folder. Note that you should be le to
navigate between folders and/or other locations on your computer in Windows
Explorer.

We have just installed Office 365. How do I save a document to a specified
folder?

Go to Gwmicro.com and you'll find:

you started. The tutorials are available in two formats, audio and Microsoft

Alison, the read to end command, or say all, is insert-down arrow. This can
be either the down arrow of the T-arrow keys or the 2 on your numpad.
The read current line is the insert key and the up arrow, again, either the
up arrow of the T arrow keys or the 8 on your numpad.
Here's the link to the premium voices

You should have been able to set verbosity level in the startup wizard, if I
remember correctly But you can get it in several other ways.
Press insert-v to bring up the quick settings menu. Arrow down to User
verbosity Or type Verbosity in the search edit box. The default is
beginner. Press the spacebar to cycle through the choices.
If you press tab, JAWS will say:
This option controls the Verbosity, or amount of information, spoken by
JAWS.
The level settings are Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
To customize what JAWS speaks for each level, see the Verbosity Options
dialog in Settings Center. The default setting is Beginner.
Tab to ok and press enter.
There are other things in that list, such as punctuation you can change too.
Check out the training materials in the JAWS help menu.
HTH.

Having planned to remain a window-eyes user for the the foreseeable future,
I am ill-prepared for the unexpected demise of my trusty computer and I have
made the sad and reluctant decision to load jaws on my new computer. Could
someone help me get started by telling me how to reduce its verbosity and
where I can find alternative voices - any recommendations? What is the read
to end command please? Enough for starters!
