I too moved across from Window-eyes to Jaws this year and am a reluctant convert! Firstly, when you are told the screen has lost focus, just hold down the alt key and tap the tab key which will move you back to the screen. I am still working my way through tutorials but have found the following website with its podcasts very helpful. The podcasts have been written with former Window-eyes users in mind:
