Komяpa,

I have established that IMG_0990_modified.tif has
imagery in the last column and this is why nearblack
is not marking the edge column as clear.

I was unable to find the original JPEG corresponding to
this file. I am wondering if the junk column of data
is related to the problem with compressing and
decompressing the partial tiles with junk data in the
portions that are off the database. I will observe that
there was a fix aimed at this issue five months ago
which I presume made it into GDAL 1.8.1.

  http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/changeset/22435/trunk/gdal/frmts/gtiff

At this point I'm going to step back since I have yet to
see a problem in the current GDAL tools. If you isolate
the point at which the problem occurs and it is still
occuring if you use GDAL trunk then please bring it
to my attention and I'll see what I can do.

Within the scope of my work on GDAL I'd like to do what
I can to support OAM.

Best regards,
